Hanuman
Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman, the great
monkey god.
Hanuman was the 11th manifestation of Lord Shiva, his father Vanar Raj ‘Kesari’ and mother ‘Anjani’ so-called Anjanai Maindha Anjaneya.

particular incident was when Sita put sindoor on her forehead, Hanuman asked her why? She replied that she
is the wife of Lord Rama; the sindoor was her sign of unconditional love and respect towards him. And
then, Hanuman covered his whole body with sindoor to show his love for Lord
Rama.
